Beijing, China

We’ve wrapped up our tour of China with Imaginative Traveler, and are now on our own.
We’re staying at the Shengdayuan Hotel in Beijing (phone: 010-68521188, I think). After the tour ended, we returned to the Tiannamen square and the forbidden city to take in the sights without the rains. Unfortunately, the skies had become very hazy since the rains had stopped, so weren’t able to get very good photos. We also enjoyed a day walking around the Temple of Heaven, which is set amongst a massive park of large trees and benches. Like clock work, as soon as the tour ended, we both caught the cold that was going around, and to Grant’s enjoyment, Joanne lost her voice.
We’ll be leaving Beijing on Tuesday (evening), via overnight train to Shanghai.
