Launceston, Tasmania, Australia
We decided to spend our final night in Tassie’s other major city, Launceston. We drove up the coast, and inland a bit. The sky was clear finally, so it was a beautiful day to hang out at the blowhole and beaches. Ring of fires bay has the second best beach in the world. We concur, it’s goregeous. Sand is fine, beach is long & clean, water is crystal clear and would be awsome to boogie board in. The Forests here are also beautiful with their lush diverse evergreen foliage. Lots of fern trees.
One word of caution about driving in Tasmania… It is very stressful at night. Wallabys, Wombats, and Devils are all over the roads!
Similar to Hobart, Launceston gets very cold at night in the winter. It was -3 when we were there. On our last day, we went on some peaceful rainforest and marshland hikes, before driving down to the Hobart airport to catch our flight back to Melbourne.

My guess is that it is a Wombat (or a Candian Beaver that had it’s tail stomped off by a kangaroo).
