Langkawi is a popular seaside destination, but not when the monsoons are in the west. Therefore, we ended up feeling like we were on a secluded beach. Waters are silty during the monsoon, and the sky is cloudy, but the water is a luxurious bathtub temperature. Our room was in a hut on the beach, with the front door opening up out onto the ocean. Sunsets were spectacular, and falling asleep to the sounds of waves crashing was heavenly. We owe finding this gem to our friendly cab driver.
It was really nice to kick back and relax for a few days. Rather than spend a day traveling back to KL via ferry and bus, we decided to stay an extra night, and then fly back. Flights in Malaysia are so cheap.
