One more night in Bangalore

Bangalore, Karnataka, India

After flying in from Mangalore, the early evening taxi ride was nothing like our first introduction to Bangalore. It took over 1 hour to travel 10km! We were eager to get into town to meet up with one of my IEEE contacts, Dipa.

Dipa is an electrical engineer, working at Cypress. We talked for hours over dinner about women in engineering. It was interesting to learn that women made up around half her graduating class! Apparently there are a lot of women engineers throughout her office too. For a country that holds on so strongly to tradition, I found that quite surprising.

Dipa was such an awesome host. Despite the late hour when we finished dinner, she offered to take us on drive to Electronic City, home of the TI campus. She has some friends working there, so we got to go in and at least tour the lobby. She was also very eager to share photos and experiences with us from her own Indian travels.

Thank you Dipa and Ganesh for introducing us to some of the highlights of Bangalore.
