Here we stopped at a brand new mosque and had a spontaneous tour after an english speaking professor noticed us admiring the grounds. An interesting highlight here was seeing the classrooms of muslims gathered around modern computers surfing the net as part of the daily education in an incredibly poor part of the world. For language, all students were required to learn Mandarin, Arabic, and English, in addition to familiar subject such as math, science, history and religion. 02 Xia HeAn ariel view of the city - this city boasts the largest buddhist monastery in China outside of Tibet proper. 03 Yak ButterInside one of the temples in the Labrang Lamaist monastery was a large display of yak butter sculpture.
