Xi’an, Terra Cotta warriors and former capital Leave a Comment / By jolecko / 2006-05-10 Xi’An, China Xi’An – home of the famous Tera Cotta Warriors 01 Terracotta WarriorsOf course we had to stop in to see the massive excavation of the terracotta warriors while in town. There is a collection of almost 8100 full size warriors and horses that was constructed during the Qin Dynasty (circa 246-210BC). That was burried shortly after the emperor's death and not found again until 1974 when a farmer failed at digging a well. 02 WarriorsHistorians believe that 700,000 people were involved in the construction of the warriors and the tomb and that it took 38 years to complete. 03 Xi'An wallJo and I had a ride around the wall encircling the city to escape the crowds, but not the rain. A highly recommended way to tour the city that lies within!
